Hey there Nation fans!  Sorry this girl has been incommunicado for a while.  Too much going on in the Capitol!  To much to describe, so let the pictures speak my words.

Science Experiment
Question:  What will happen when we mix shaving cream (#toomuchfunwecan'thandleit) with corn starch?
Hypothesis:  "It will explode."  (they think everything will explode!)
"It will turn blue."
"It will feel like liquid."
Observation: The two substance will mix to form a "snowball."
Conclusion:  The foam and the powder mixed to  make a soft substance.  We loved every minute.  (Plus the room smelled like my dad!)

Our first science experiment of the year!  Woot!  Woot!

This week the senate learned their color words and what happens when you mix certain colors.

We began our scientist journey...

Question:  What will happen when you add dish soap to four different colors of food coloring and 1/2 cup of whole milk.

Hypothesis:  It will bubl. (It will bubble.)

It will explod.  (It will explode,)

It will mix.

Test:  Students were given a bowl of milk with four different colors of food coloring.  Then a drop of dish soap was added by q-tip to the center of the food coloring drops.

Conclusion:  Ah!  You'll need to ask your firstie for that info!

Science Experiment

Question:  What happens when you place a raw egg in water and a raw egg in vinegar.

EGG IN WATER

Hypothesis:  The egg in water will change color.

I think the color will come off.

Won't do anything.

Crack and break.

EGG IN VINEGAR

Hypothesis: The egg in vinegar will crack.

It will crack and leak.

It will change color.

The color will come off.

It will smell like vinegar and sink.

Results:  The egg in water...

The egg in vinegar...

Cooking Club Comes to the Nation!

This week we mixed it up a bit with our science experiments.  Today we brought cooking into room 106!

 

Ingredients: marshmallows, butter, rice crispies

Question:  What should we do with these ingredients?

How do we get the ingredients to stay together?

Hypothesis: Rice Crispy Bars

stir
